From Nissan Cohen. Rincao Ranch in the State of Sao Paulo is approximately 220 kilometers from the capital city of Sao Paulo. This 180 acre ranch is situated 25 kilometers south of the city of Guaratingueta in the eastern section of the state of Sao Paulo. Access is a series of paved and dirt roads. This secluded former dairy farm is now a naturist haven.
Rincao Ranch is very secluded with beautiful rolling hills. A waterfall and natural pool is a 1/2 an hour walk to the northeast. Many of the children and adults are happy to escort visitors to the waterfall.
The ranch is rustic even bucholic. A nice change of pace from the hectic lifestyle of Sao Paulo. The grounds are divided into living quarter sections and the main communal center which includes a restaurant, offices, showers, bar and large patios. Bungalows and cabins are available for rent at nominal charges.
A small swimming pool is located in the center of the complex with an accompanying concession area for drinks and snacks. Below the pool and centered throughout the complex are a series of streams. A large dam has been built at the far south end of the small valley. The spring fed stream will eventually fill the area with ponds, a creek, and a large lake for recreation. The lake will have a depth of approximately 45 feet next to the dam embankment.
Upon entering the facility I met with the caretaker and manager of the facility. One permanent resident of Rincao spoke fluent English. He was an engineer in the United States for many years. Another member, visiting for the weekend, was an american man married to a Brazilian women that additionally belong to a naturist club in the Tampa area.
If you speak Spanish, the Brazilians will try to interpret your speech. Portuguese is the official language of Brazil. Most college-educated Brazilians speak and understand uncomplicated English.
My overall impression of Rincao was favorable. Because of the rustic nature, many amenities we, americans, take for granted at any naturist facility were lacking at Rincao. Lack of lounge chairs at the pool for sunbathing are a small example. However, the restaurant, showers, and cabins and bungalows were wonderful.
In the future, when the lake and ponds are filled and the membership increases, Rincao will be a wonderful naturist resort with good to excellent recreation, hostel, and food accommodations. I look forward to the transformation of this facility over the next few years.
Rincao Ranch should be contacted before visitation. Rincao Ranch is a member of the BNF (Brasilian Naturist Federation) and will accept AANR, TNS and INF memberships for entry. Contact can be made by telephone, fax, or e-mail.
